If you're staying in Kigali, this area is great for getting a flavor of local urban life. You can feel safe walking it's streets with fun street art and signs.

Most people don't realize how important this area is and was during the genocide. It's worth walking around as it's super hip now!

Nice area to visit and went to a youth centre[La Rafiki] and met some of staff and youth and learnt of the work done there.Went up mount Kigali too[what a journey but great view]and went to a local cafe for lunch which was very enjoyable.

This quarter of the city is operational 24 hours a day. It has many small shops and eateries as well as bars (shockingly). The quarter has a lovely history with a mosque and muslims though they are now less in number
