The plan was to stop off this morning, have some breakfast and then browse some books before leaving for the Presidential palace. The plan changed. When my moto-taxi finally found the place I walked in and was instantly taken by the range of books. It was so exciting to see so many books by African writers as well as European... More

My husband and I slightly argue whether the best coffee in Kigali is found at Question or at the book store but this amazing book store with cafe has wonderful staff, yummy eats and the best coffee in Kigali

Whenever I visit a city or a country, I try to always visit bookstores, and find authors from that country, or music from that country. The Ikirezi bookstore was a very well-furnished bookstore, and the staff was very knowledgeable. I found Rwandan authors, African authors, and world-renowned ones. There was a good section on the history of the country, the... More

The place is ideal to go and read for a while or work on your computer. Teas are pretty good so are the sandwichs. It has a nice view of Kigali

So nice I visited twice! The coffee is good and the view is spectacular. The variety of books, gifts and overall organic feel is welcoming. Moreover, you will bump into a all types of people who are there to work, chat or simply enjoy and absorb. This is what a real coffee house/ bookstore should be.

With a wide range of local, regional and international titles, Ikirezi is without a doubt the best bookstore in Rwanda. You can also pick up some great hand made cards and souvenirs. Well worth visiting when in Kigali.

Ikirezi has an outstanding selection of books in English, Kinyarwanda, and French. I was able to locate some hard-to-find novels written by Rwandans about the Rwandan Genocide of 1994. There is also a wide selection of stationery.

Visiting Ikirezi bookstore is one of my favourite activities in Kigali. The bookshop offers a wonderful selection of books about Rwanda in specific and Africa and other countries in general. When done with shopping, a visit to Ikirezi's roof terrace is highly recommended!

I love Ikirezi (named after its founder). It's a brilliant bookshop with titles in English, French and Kinyarwanda. Plenty for adults and children, as well as a craft shop and café. Inzora café serves home baked cookies and cake with a selection of tea and coffee, and they have a really nice rooftop area with sofas you can sprawl on... More
