An adventure to get there and back

It is worth it to go over and have a picnic on the banks of Tuti island. Also, to take a tuk tuk ride through the town.

But it was fun and the locals friendly. It's next to the v basic sailing or rowing club. You get hassled a little by hawkers but nothing intolerable for the interesting experience.

Make sure you take a boat round Tuti Island to see the meeting of the Blue and White Niles. Fantastic bird watching so go early on Fri or Sat to catch some rare sightings.

While I lived in Khartoum, Tuti island was my favorite place for relaxed walk and birdwatching. Beautiful place, rich in birdlife.

Sad to see the poorness of the island and the people even though it is in the heart of the capital, in other countries this island would be marvelous to see, I hope one day it will get some attention from the government to make some development at least by the Nile confluence.

Nicely located in the river opposite one of the crudest areas in Khartoum, you can enjoy your tea or coffee with a wonderful view, especially at the evening or night.

Tuti island is where i grew up. They recently built a bridge as of 2009. Before that u had to take a ferry or small boats. This used to be agricultural but everyone is building houses.it is in the middle of Khartoum. It is located where the white and blue nile meet to form the river Nile. U can go... More
