The museum was typically fascinating as such establishments are. The fee is not too expensive and the tour through Uganda's colonial history, political legacy, cultural artifacts and a special exhibition on petroleum easily took two hours to complete. It was a tad disappointing that the souvenir available for purchase were of poor quality.

Interesting, if sparse offerings. Also, much too dark inside to appreciate some of the displays. Occasionally they host other events in the empty rooms nearby. A must if you're in Kampala.

What a sad, run down, forlorn museum- seemingly untouched since the departure of the British about fifty years ago. This museum does Uganda no favours and should be closed- It is very depressing.

Good to see the history of Uganda under one roof and greater information and hidden secrets are there in one place.

We enjoyed learning about the culture, the country and the history of Uganda through a visit to the Uganda Museum. Definitely worth the trip!

the museum is rather small, old fashioned dating back to the colonial times and not very well kept. It needs some refurbishing and dusting of the exhibited object. However, it treasures some gems of the tribal culture. It's really worth a visit and the walk uphill to get there

I did have to agree with comments regarding it being run down and in need of a little tlc. But it is still worth the nominal entrance fee and has lots of interesting and informative exhibits. Be aware that reception will probably try to charge you 10,000 shillings (the price if you want to take photographs) rather than the standard... More

A good way to spend a hour or so in central Kampala. The paleontology section is rather interesting. Unlike other reviews I found the place clean

The reviews are mixed & now I understand why. The museum dates to colonial times and looks like nothing has been done since. That said, the cultural exhibit has some interesting tribal artifacts. For the 5000 shilling admission it is worth an hour of your time if you find yourself nearby.
