Local handicrafts are my weakness. I'm so tired of mass produced junk souvenirs. When we arrived at Uganda Crafts, I knew I was in the right place. The baskets were extremely high quality and the prices very reasonable. They will haggle a bit, but what they ask is very reasonable. If you are visiting Kampala, make time to visit this... More

This little shop tucked under a building on Bombo road carries beautiful colorful woven baskets and other handicrafts. Compared to the baskets behind the National Theater, the quality is far superior and worth the trip. Bring cash - no credit cards. Wish I could have bought the huge baskets to take home - they were magnificent.

This shop is nestled off Bombo road, so be sure to look for the sign. I like it because they support local artisans and focus on creating opportunities for disabled and disadvantaged artisans. You actually know that you are making a difference when you buy from them. Make sure to drop by on Friday morning, artisans sit outside the shop... More
