This temple makes for a great trip out of of Kathmandu. It is easily accessible by public bus from Jamal area and cost only 20 rupees. Vishnu sculpture is very unique and can be view from outside of the main gates (non-Hindus are not allowed into the enclosure area but you have an excellent opportunity to see everything from outside.... More

A pretty unique temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu where he lies in a pool of water. Atmosphere is pleasant and soothing.

This was one of first places we visited in Nepal. Never saw anything like this before. After walking around the area, I saw that this was a very sacred place, by the many many people who would come by, even for a short prayer and do some rituals over and over. I felt a respect because you see the respect... More

Sacred place in which pictures can be restricted, area is a bit dirty but it is nice to learn about Nepali culture.

Five meter long granite image carved out of a single rock, Lord Vishnu reclining on a bed of snakes in the middle of a pond. Very beautiful.

I liked this place better than Pashupati, because it is a place of worship rather than a monument. Massive statue of Lord Vishnu bathed by devoteees.

This is the holy place I like to visit.....no rush and no pushing you can pray properly........amazing statue and love to watch all kinds of people praying in their own way...
