If you are in katmandu I suggest to do a walk, a little bit cahotic but it is a nice experience, aldo for dinner.

Thamel is the main shopping & touristic area in Kathmandu. Many good & small hotels around, tourist shops, restaurants are lined up in this happening area. One can spend a good full day visiting shops, chilling out at restaurants etc...

Thamel is like a small Saigon. It's the heart of commodity and diversity in Kathmandu. There are hundreds (almost )of restaurants, cafe, plus souvenir stores that can be found in Thamel. Also majority of budget hotels can be found around the area.

You can find everything in this market from showpieces, khukris, statues, clothes, decorations, pot, hash and so on. Bars, Hotels, Dance Bars all are present in this area.
