Lots of hotels, shops and eateries in the region. Very busy and dusty - so bring/buy a mask if concerned about air pollution. Roads are in bad shape and reconstruction of buildings occurring worsening congestion. Place to see/stay in Kathmandu for 1-2 days.

This is a crazy busy place. The markets and restaurants are everywhere. Like Freak Street and Hippie Square at the far end, Thamel maybe is a place we should have seen in the 60s. Now it's a caracature of itself. Look carefully and you can...More

Interesting to visit, and appreciated the fact that we did not have to fight the traffic. I enjoyed the shops of varying sizes, from an actual shop, to a stall in a walk way. Found some good coffee spots.

Heavy rain is easy to find in the end of May, so I think you need to bring a rain cover jacket. The temperature is hot in Kathmandu, T-shirts is OK in the city.

Yes-Suggest plenty of Camping gear available ,but as we were already set up did not particularly take notice. Would be pretty certain you would have no problems- Also sure they are available in Pokara.
