This place had the wonderful feeling of being delightfully old fashioned and some parts of the exhibits felt like time travelling back to the 1900's. You follow the signs inside and meander around the large hall, there's lot to see and read about. I felt I could have stayed all day and still not fully appreciated everything. It can get quite warm inside the exhibit hall so take a bottle of water with you and make good use of the benches for a break from time to time. Outside again there's a lovely wee walk through the gardens to a wonderful restaurant/bar area. I was there on my own and sat outside in the sunshine drinking beer and just enjoying being there in that moment. It was a lovely experience and one I shan't forget. If you're in Pokhara, go along and enjoy a quite different type of visitor attraction than you'll get in the West. It really is worth the trip!

We only had an hour to visit the museum so the review is based on what were able to see and absorb in that time. There was some interesting information about cultural groups in the Himalaya and a section about people who have climbed Everest which was really interesting. The museum though feels a bit tired.

If you are passionate about mountains and the Himalaya you must visit! We did get a bit lost trying to find it but that’s probably more us! Very informative with loads of history behind the people of the Himalaya and the progression of mountaineering. We stayed 3 hrs and I wish I’d had longer! Gardens outside are also nice.

International mountain mesuem is a mesuem located in Pokhara. It is located near the Seti river. It is the mesuem where we can observe the culture and costoms of Nepalese. You can enjoy with Nepalese cultures and traditions.

A museum about mountaineering and its history. You could have description of the people living in the Himalayas and descriptions of the 14 highest peaks and their most famous expeditions.

This was part of our itinerary on the tour of Nepal. It's good to see all the history but i found the climate change display a lot more interesting.

Clearly a museum for mountain lovers and not only! Probably the best museum we've visited over the last 6 months in Asia. Well organised, big, includes outdoor areas, set up in great green area with fantastic views of the snowy peaks...
The only downside is the placement on the outskirts of Pokhara (we went by bike, only a 30min ride from north Lakeside), but it's worth going! If you like mountains and climbing, do go early and take your time. Two hours for us was far too short and we had to rush trough a lot of it. Enjoy!
