I booked a tour through Indus travel called--"Majestic of India" which includes Nepal. I was not informed that the driving from Kathmandu to Chitwan was 10 hours and the road was extremely dangerous, unpaved road and dusty. Beware, of this especially if you have a issue with your lungs and sitting down for more than 8 hours. When you get... More

So we went on a day Safari into Chitwan National Park organised by our hotel (Sapana Village Lodge). We opted for the jeep only and had 6 people in the jeep. Many jeeps we saw touring had upwards of 10 people. I believe that our hotel charged over the odds, they also charged 13% tax and a 10% tip, that... More

There are a few ways in which one can visit the dense forest of the national park. We used the canoe to cross the river to take the jeep. The elephant safari which is short about 1.5 hrs, jeep safari about 3 to 5 hrs . and a walking safari. We choose the jeep safari. I don't like the way... More

Ok folks, I'm going to give it to you straight. This ain't Disney Land. Chitwan is an amazing national park full of wild animals that have the potential to seriously mess up your day. There are no guarantees of seeing anything. Luck and the skill of your guides can make the difference between seeing nothing and seeing everything. You want... More

Using a jeep, we traveled through the jungle, seeing many animals, birds, and the highlight was a mother bear with the baby on her back in the same area as a rhino - shots of the two animals together - priceless. Guide was phenomenal and very knowledgeable, passionate and enthusiastic with our group

We spotted tiger foot prints and a baby rhino which was 2 weeks old. At one point a male rhino came 20 ft close to our jeep, smelled up and left.

Although elephant safari was uncomfortable (about an hour) it was interesting. Elephant crosses rivers and goes inside the forest. Sighted lots of spotted deer, peacock, monkeys and crocs (on river bank). Did not see rhino inside the forest but had one coming to drink water near our hotel at twilight. It, in fact, crossed the river to our side and... More
