Good way to learn some Taiwan history. Some good exhibits and a good variety of well made videos in the rotating theatre. After your visit, you can go see the bazaar at B2 of Cityhall. That is also interesting.

If you are in the Taipei 101 area, this place is worth a visit. The exhibition is not a lot but they are very informative with interesting some interactive features/displays. Kids can have a little fun in here while we adult could learn a thing or two about Taipei.

It's 5 minutes walk from Taipei 101 and this sort of City Museum is certainly worth the small detour. Located within the city hall it has 3 floors of information on various aspects ion the city history (as well as a large movie theater showing movies about Taipei, that I didn't visit). It's not pretentious, well done and free, so...

If this is your first visit to Taipei and want to learn some history in an interactive manner, then check out the Discovery Center. It is located in City Hall. It’s a short walk from Taipei 101 or from Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall. You could take the elevator to the third floor because the second floor is still under renovations.... More

If you wanted to learn more about Taipei city history, then you may want to consider put his location into your back back trip plan. This place is located inside Taipei City Hall. There are translation service available upon requests. Ask information desk before you begin your walkthrough.

It's located in Taipei City Hall. Exhibitions are mainly in Chinese, translation aids are available. For people who like to learn more about history of Taipei, and how the city is developed over time. This can be your first stop.

With no high expectation when we visit but also did not expect so much disappointment. Totally nothing interesting, not for adult and not for kid.

This was ok, however two floors were being renovated so it is hard to rate it truly. The top floor - 4 - was only ok. Very little is translated into English. Also there seems not to be any order, chronologically, on the flow of the exhibition. So I felt like I was just seeing random bits of Taiwanese history... More

Unfortunately out of the 4 floors of exhibition, 2 of them were under renovation! Annoying. So check the chinese version of the website for further updates.

We got to know about this place as we walked from Grand Hyatt hotel to Taipei City Hall MRT. It was a great place to go for travelers who were first time in Taipei. The center is actually located within the Taipei City Hall and consists of 4 floors. Admission is free. The interior design was amazing. Lots of exhibits... More
