I did the dumpling class alone, but I learnt so much more than just a dumpling recipe. Jodie is a very inspiring woman. She really enjoys what she's doing and it shows. She taught me to make the basic dough which we used for dumpling, potstickers, pocket and the much wanted scallion pancake! Yummy! Even a dessert with black sesame... More

I had a class with Jodie in May. It was only me in the class, which was great. Although it was quite expensive, it was worth the money as I really enjoyed the experience, all of the food was simple yet delicious. It was also vegan/ vegetarian friendly which suited me, and I'm sure meat eaters would equally enjoy the... More

My husband and I like to take food/culinary tours when we travel as a means to get to know where the locals eat, purchase foods and do business. Fancy hotels, shops and restaurants don't give us a feel for the city we are visiting. We found Jodie's Kitchen and Walking tours online and decided to take her morning walking tour... More

My son and I took Jodie's dumpling cooking class during a visit to Taipei in May 2015. We thoroughly enjoyed learning this unique style of cooking. The four-hour class encompassed four recipes: 2 types of dumplings, green onion pancake, and "Zi Ma Tian Bing", a dessert made with black sugar and sesame seeds. Jodie's apartment is in a beautiful part... More

I took several classes with Jodie and loved them all. Whether learning about dumplings, basic Taiwanese cooking, taking a guided walk through the old city, or a leisurely hike in the beautiful mountains near Taipei, Jodie is a goldmine of information. Not only did she teach me about cooking, but I can't believe all I learned about Taiwanese history and... More

I took the dumpling class with one other person (stranger danger!!) who ended up being our travel friend for the rest of the week! The dumpling class taught me so much about the dough, fillings and technique. Perhaps could have used a little more instruction on the cooking methods but I figured it out on a couple of successful test... More

My son and I took Jodie's "Taiwanese Cooking Introductory Class". We loved it. I've taken lots of cooking classes, both in the US and abroad. Most concentrate on preparing set recipes, but Jodie concentrated on how to use Taiwanese spices and ingredients to prepare anything. She used a few recipes to show how to incorporate Taiwanese flavors into any dish... More

Jodie was just amazing. We learnt so much and so enjoyed eating all the dumplings and pancakes she helped us to make. We would highly recommend this cooking class to anyone visiting Taipei. It was an absolute delight. Thankyou so much to Jodie for a womderful day.

As part of a tour, I attended Jodie's cooking class in May. The class is in Jodie's spacious and relaxing home. Jodie is very friendly and spends the time to describe the processes of creating and using some of the Taiwanese seasonings, especially those usiing black and white sesame seeds. Since the class was booked for me, and I didn't... More

Thanks to my wife for discovering this, a real gem of an experience for our first trip to the charming island of Taiwan. I didn't know what to expect, and I learned that Taiwanese cuisine is informed by influences from both China and Japan, but has picked up the most delicious, unique flavors from both of them. Jodie was a... More
