You have to catch a city bus to get to the park, which is located up in the hills. Use your metro pass to pay for the bus fare. Once at the park, it's easy to follow the signs for the recommended "tour." So pretty...More

Nice short trip out of the city, it is like Taipei's backyard - we were there within 40 minutes from downtown. Well maintained trials, maps and informative boards all over the park. Nice pit stops with Starbucks along the way.

This is a lovely park, easily accessible by public transport !! We got to catch some beautiful cherry blossoms !! The volcanic geysers were beautiful .. There are signboards on how to get around, but those boards can get quite difficult to locate !

Hello there. Two of us will go to YMS on March 5. I read the reviews and many people say that it's really dificult if you don't go by private car/ rental car coz the buses are always crowded. Anybody go on that day can share the car with us? What is the best trail for cherry blossom? Thank you so much

I would agree that it would be best to have a private car or tour van/bus. I don't know the best trail for cherry blossoms.

Hello there! We will be in Taipei this March 3-7. I believe this park is huge. We are not fans of hiking but we would like to just see the flower festival and the cherry blossoms. What is the best route to just see the flower festival from Ximen Mrt. We will be staying at ximen hedo hotel. Thank you!!

You could take bus 260 from Taipei main station or bus 111, 303 from Shilin MRT bus station (Zhong Zheng) to Yangmingshan. I guess taking mrt to Shilin and change to bus 111 or 103 would be a faster route to avoid traffic on... More
