We went there by MRT from Taipei - easy for English speaking tourists. First we visited the small HOT SPRING MUSEUM (to enter, take off your shoes and they give you disinfected slippers) and then the PLUM GARDEN. Then we went to see the THERMAL...More

Nothing very extraordinary here but if you have time, it's nice to see and to get out of the city. At the end of the MRT, just follow the sign to the "thermal valley". You'll end up at a nice thermal natural pond with light...More

Most of hot springs here are indoor. Outdoor is not very nice and mostly for elder local people. If u will find nice indoor hot springs - they might be pricy during weekend. Better check and book before. Busy during weekend.

Traveling here by train was easy. When we arrived, it was impossible to gather information. We walked around, saw the springs(public), tried to get a cab which was very challenging! I did not think this was a place for tourists who do not speak Taiwanese....More

There is a dedicated metro line that take you to the town and thence a short ten minute uphill walk to the spring. Essentially a giant steam bath - its interesting geologically but that's about it. The gift shop is pretty good though. Back downhill...More

Loved the area of Beitou and how the whole village is built into the mountain with access to hot springs and museums. Perfect day trip; note Mondays most museums are closed.

Recommended to escape from the city. Easy to get there with the subway (red line). The place is not that big but in my opinion are hot springs always nice to see. You can not into the water.

Beitou is high in the mountains. Flooding is not an issue. It's actually a good destination for raining days as u can soak indoors. The only problem is u won't be able to walk around to see other sceneries.

Clothing is required at any mixed baths(public)..Clothing is prohibited at all separated baths.... you have the public baths which are inexpensive, or you can rent a private room at a hotel for 60-90 minutes
