Close to the city of Taipei and surrounded by mountains, a cold humid winter day can become a warm experience using natural hot springs. These can be public or private in the numerous hotels, well equipped and traditionallly clean. Very touristic, easily accessible by all modes of transportation. The local aborigene museum gives a good highlight of this fascinating ancestral... More

The whole area is for people that want to enjoy the renowned hot springs. We went to the main viewing spot which is not for bathing but for simply looking. The smell of Sulphur is strong and the air is quite warm because of the steam given off by the hot springs. Many hotels are nearby and they offer a... More

First time experiencing hot springs. Did not go to the public millenium bath but instead decided to walk straight up the road to enquire on the private ones which was a better choice. Thermal valley was really cool too. The further the hotel, the cheaper the price. The public bath is closed on monday. Combine the trip with tamsui. Not... More

We combined Beitou half day with Tamsui half day and both towns offer different and unique experiences. Beitou is very accessible by MRT from the city and it was very enjoyable and easy to walk around in. Basically, the moment you get off the MRT, just head across the road and follow the signs in a straight path to the... More

I feel peaceful and warm at Thermal Valley. Thermal Valley is not same like several hot springs in Malaysia. You may learn history about this hot spring when you visit the Beitou Hot Spring Museum. This museum has European and Japanese style.

This hot spring is government owned so everything was reasonable, especially the price of admission NT$40. Check to make sure you aren't coming close to the "intermission" when the clear out the pools to clean them up. Also make sure that you have the proper attire. As others have mentioned, board shorts for men (baggy ones with pockets) are not... More

This town was founded around the hot springs and until today these springs are still center of the local activities. See the old Japanese Spa museum.

we arrived from too early to check in to our hotel, so we dropped off our bags and went around town to find some food. The first was very busy with a 15 minute wait, so.we decided to walk around and found the well published and traditional Japanese restaurant called Man Lai ( No English name). We also had to... This is one of the marvel of the nature and definitely a must visit during taipei visit. Though it's a small place but certainly worth an experience.
