Take the gondola up to Maokong and enjoy the views. The Crystal Cabins with glass floors are well recommended! Once you reach the top, go right and follow the signs to 樟山寺, Zhangshan Temple. The trail is scenic and makes for a good hike. Once you reach the temple, enjoy a full view of Taipei City. You will not regret... More

When in Taipei don't miss visiting Maokong mountain. The views across Taipei are magnificent from the gondolas taking you up and across the mountain to Maoking.

Worth staying for a whole day to enjoy both day and night activities up in MaoKong. We took the normal cabin up as advised by the crew due to large crowd in order not to waste time in the queue. Fortunately, we managed to enjoy the crystal cabin ride down which is quite a sight being able to look below... More

It is worth the trip to ride the Gondola. The view of Taipei from above is spectaular. Go for lunch at the top of the summit where all the teahouses are serving full meals and have beautiful views. I wouldn't bother with paying extra for the crystal gondola ride. The wait for that can be long as there are 1... More

Take the MRT to Taipei zoo. From there it's a short walk to the gondola station. Yiu can use the easy-pass to take the gondola way up to the Maokong mountain. Apart from the the view, you can also visit a tiny but very interesting tea museum. The guide speaks exellent english and has e very enthousiastic way to tell... More

Excellent on a late afternoon into late night. If you're lucky, catch the gondola at the "golden hour". Gondola closes around 11:30 but there are still buses that go down the mountain and the tea houses can help you call a cab. Best food with view in Taipei, hands down. Must visit for food and tea.

Great views when you take the gondola to the top. So green and tropical. Check the weather before you visit because if it storms the gondola could be shut down.

So far I love this place the most in Taipei. Nice view over the city, worth all the effort to go up - it is actually not much hiking. If you are lazy, you can take the bus, but it would definitely cut the excitement.

Our plan was to catch the gondola to the top and have tea, maybe see a temple. We went on the crystal gondola, however we are a couple of active grandparents and were definitely not impressed with the rude kids we had to share with (and their embarrassed mother). Note, if you see roudy kids, change lines. We went to... More
