I debated long and hard about which floating market to visit. I really wanted the experience of sitting in a long tail boat ordering food and taking great pictures as we ate and moved down a canal, however, after reading all the reviews from various floating markets on trip advisor I settled on Taling Chan. So glad we did, although... More

Not so fascinating as Damnoen Saduak.. But its really easy to get there by public bus.. I suggest it if you have already visited the big floating market or if you are on limited time in Bangkok.. Not so much floating boats.. But still ok if you are an experienced traveller in Bkk. Dont buy souvenirs from here because its... More

Bangkok offers several floating markets within the city and in the suburbs. a place where you would get garments, food and also a little show depticting the local culture of Thailand. One can have a good time sailing through the little water body and surfing through the shops.

Went there last weekend with my family. Took BTS to Bangwa station then with taksi about 15mins 70-100bath. This market is only open on weekends and you have to try the boat tour. They have 3hours boat tour starts from 9.45am and it's only 99Bath. Too bad i came here late so i just take the 1 hour trip with... More

Taling Chan Floating Market is tiny compare to Damnoen Saduak. We joined the 3 hour boat tour ($99 baht). It stopped at a couple of floating markets so we can eat and buy souvenirs. The first stop is much better than the second one so buy your food there if you want to eat. The grill shrimp, fish and pork... More

One must not miss this experience. You do shopping while on the boat. Some vendors are on the boat, others are on the side of the river. Less than an hour ride. We enjoyed the Thai noodles after the ride. I think price of commodities are a bit high.

When we first came to Bangkok we stayed in the Compass Skyview Hotel which was great but a funny doorman decided we need a tour so with his jokes and laughter we stupidly accepted... he called his own taxi driver who was a nice guy who obviously just wanted to earn a bit extra that day... he told him to... We got picked up at 6 am and basically paid a lot of money to have someone take us to Walmart! It was not like the guide books show with colorful local produce... it was mostly souvenirs. Not worth it at all!

The floating market itself is small and whilst it floats you do all the buying of food from the shore. It's not a true floating market where you float up, but and float off. But worst of all is the 'boat trip' which apparently features three floating markets - there is one and it too doesn't float to buy. Apparently... More
