One of the most highly acclaimed Thai cooking experiences in Bangkok, Cooking with Poo and Friends is limited to 12 participants to maintain an intimate setting and includes a personal tour through the Klong Toey market to purchase ingredients for the day's menu. The class is hosted by Khun Poo's amazing staff, a group of long-time residents of the Klong Toey slum who have displayed incredible resolve despite personal difficulties. The class is practical, warm, fun, and gives a true taste of Thai culture you'll never forget.

My wife and I joined Poo and her assistants on a Thursday class. Although I’ve been to several open markets in Thailand before, this one had a lot more fresh ingredients and fruits than I could’ve imagined. The guides make the tour insightful and fun....More

We signed up thinking it would be a great opportunity to show our very western and privileged children (6,8,11,13years) how other cultures live, purchase food, and cook. This tour did not disappoint. There were several confronting sights and smells in the fresh market- but all...More

After living in Bangkok for 1 year and hearing so many good things about this cooking school, I finally booked a session! I wasn't disappointed! After the market tour (which can be a little confronting) to buy some ingredients, we were taken back to the...More

I'm almost ashamed that it took me 7 months to write a review, because this deserved immediate attention. Poo's cooking class was the best part of my experience in Bangkok. You're not only learning how to cook authentic Thai cuisine, but Poo and her crew...More

Children are most certainly welcome so long as a guardian is present. They should enjoy the class if they are able to manage basic cooking utensils or helped to do so. As a general rule children aged 6 and above have been... More
