The best way to get around Bangkok is by the river. We took a day pass and hopped on and off where we wanted. It was pretty amazing. Loved it so much did it 2 days running and saw totally different things each day.

we used these boats twice... up and then back down the river. they were extremely cheap.... pence... and really nice way of seeing the monuments and the temples along the river. downside is knowing when it is your stop.

I have taken this boat many times. It's 14 baht for any distance, usually pay on board though some piers have a kiosk. Be prepared to have to stand - but you get a good view that way too.

Quicker than a bus, cab or tuktuk is the boat service on the Chao Prata river. However, depending on the amount of visitors for the palace, the queue can be quite long.

It was fun travelling with express boat yet great sightseeing at very low cost. With the blue flag boat (at slightly higher price), the boat offer quick guide in explaining of attractions along the river.

Hi Brisbane P, Definitely by taxi. Express boat would be very stressful as it is a commuter service, meaning mostly crowded and only hesitates at stops.

It is not a tour. It is public transportation along the river. See my TA review for information concerning the stopspiers for the Grand Palace, Wat Arun, Chinatown & more

hi Khainul ! I agree with the others, in that where to start, where to get off and look around, depends on what you want to see. Give yourself some time -- even 10 mins will help- to google the Chao Praya Express, to get... More
