Wat Ratchabophit is a Buddhist temple located on Fueang Nakhon Street in Bangkok. It was built during the reign of King Rama V (1868-1910). The temple has a unique layout. Wiharn and ubosot are connected by a circular courtyard, in the center of which is a gilded chedi (43 m high) with a golden ball on top. The temple is located near the Grand Palace and Wat Pho. It is definitely worth going there.

Wat Ratchabophit is a historic royal temple built by King Rama V in 1869. It consists of a 43 m high golden stupa surrounded by a central courtyard and a giant round wall beautifully decorated with hand made mosaics. At present Wat Ratchabophit is the residence of the Supreme Patriarch, the head of the Kingdom’s Buddhist community. On the temple grounds is a royal cemetery with many monuments containing the ashes of members of the immediate family of King Rama V, including wet nurses.
I have visited Wat Ratchabophit twice, in February 2020 and now, simply because I was so impressed by its beauty and the peaceful environment, on both occasions I met only very few visitors, 3 local worshippers this time. I was lucky as I met a monk cleaning the temple grounds who spoke English and explained to me the purpose of the various buildings.

Very beautiful, peaceful and very clean. We were there when monks were arranging the main church and a special seat that the Patriarch would use to pray on that afternoon.

Beautiful temple, no entry fee. Royal cemetery is located in this temple, not far from Wat Phra Kaew. This temple is resident of Patriarch.

A very beautiful Buddhist Temple from the 19th century in the historic center of Bangkok not far from Grand Palace. It is ornate with exquisitely decorated widow and doors. In the center of the temple there is a huge pagoda.
It is active temple, not very touristy which made it more attractive to me.

We had visited Wat Ratchabophit - a beautiful temple dedicated to Lord Buddha during our vacation in Bangkok. This temple is located very close to the Wat Pho or Reclining Buddha. There is no entrance fee for this temple. We liked the golden stupa and pagoda style temple architecture. We clicked pics in front of the many golden colored intricately carved doors which were a awesome sight.

I stumbled upon this temple as I was looking for the giant Swing which is across the street. Parts are under construction but the ordination hall in the Center is quite beautiful. The Buddha is very ornately decorated and there are many monk sculptures making it a little different than other temples.

The temple is opposite the red giant swing and it's another royal temple. This temple is massive but it is currently under renovation. Except for the main hall, there are also different sites with stories inside the temple.
