More

We did some research on the internet and found that the Sompong Thai Cookery School got very good reviews, now I can see why. We were met at Chong Nonsi BTS station by a smiling representative of the school wearing a bright red apron who led us to a car which drove us a few hundred metres to Soi 13... More

I have checked several different cooking schools before I see Sompong. The reason why i choose this cooking school is because the plates and bowls they use, and the decorations in the classroom are very Thai style, you really feel you are in a traditional Thai family. And the staff are very kind/ helpful. An excellent experience! The food is... More

We booked this class after reading excellent trip advisor reviews and we were a little apprehensive as the price is so much lower than others we've seen. However we needn't have worried. From start to finish the whole experience was amazing...visiting the Thai markets and learning all about the ingredients and Thai ways was fascinating, then we returned to the... More

Email communication after reservation was immediate and factual. At school we were invited by very friendly staff and got thai iced tea. Then we headed to the local market where our teacher showed us herbs, vegetables, fruit, coconut cream/milk production - very beneficial. After the market we went back to the school - everything was well organized and in sync.... More

Joining a class in Sompong Thai Cooking School was one of the best things I've done in Bangkok. Our teacher was a young guy who was super friendly, humorous and skilled. He taught us the techniques of cooking thai food in a really enjoyable way. The place was very clean and the atmosphere was lovely. If you want to try such... More

I would almost give it a five except the food didn't turn out so great. No, it wasn't my poor cooking but even trying the teacher's portion, the taste seemed a bit bland. For those familiar with Thai cuisine, there's usually a powerful and complex flavour with multiple herbs and aromas in a single dish. But for the dishes we... More

The ultimate Master chef class for dumb people in kitchen like me....Very caring instructors, funny also, excellent facilities and awesome recipes... The walk to the local market was a highpoint.

Me and my boyfriend took the morning course and we really enjoyed it, At first, you visit a market with a cooking teacher and she explain you about different Thai products. Cooking school was well organized and at the end of cooking, you can eat everything what you make, in addition everybody get a cooking book to bring home,

Last week I participated in one of the morning classes, and it was an amazing experience. Koy is a lovely woman, who is a very knowledgeable and professional cook and teacher. And more importantly, very funny! She brings everything with a lot of humour, and has the ability to keep up the pace of the class without leaving anyone behind.... More

Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
