The Grand Pearl Cruise is very entertaining way to spend an evening in Bangkok. The sights are wonderful and the boat is large, comfortable and a very smooth ride. The food was ok, nothing great for sure as was basic and quantities were limited.

Quite enjoyed the cruise. The staff were really nice and there were 3 artists singing. As we were sitting outside, we could get away from them! There was a Thai Elvis impersonator who some appeared to enjoy. The food is ok and certainly not at all bad. It's just not of the very high standards you can get in Thailand.... More

We booked specifically inside as we knew the weather on this day would be raining. We also requested a table with a view to the stage and aircondition. We was told this to be the best river cruise. When we arrived, we was taken upstairs open air to a corner table with barely any views. I spoke to the hostess... More

The ship is nice with good facilities, we have a relaxing time. The buffet is, however, much bellow average, poor in both quality & variety. It would be better if there is some introduction of landmarks along the river.

Was the most memorable part of our holiday! Make sure to book with transfers included as it would make it easier to get there. Large selection of all you can eat foods, great views of the temples and attractions as we cruised along the Chao Phraya river at night. Great Live band also playing at the top deck of the... More

Booked the cruise in our hotel (Siam Heritage Boutique). Unfortunately the officer sold us the basic tickets (1700 B) and we were seated in the lower level. He did not mention that the upper deck is more expensive but it also has the best view (open). We would like to have the dinner there. The food was delicious. Every three... More

We had this cruise few years back and it was lot more fun though main reason of deterioration cannot be attributed to Pearl Cruise as previously both sides of the River was well lit and made a wonderful ambiance; this time around almost the complete river line was in darkness except few areas like hotels / restaurants, shops etc. The... Pros: - beautiful river scenery - its a big ship. Can hold 500 passengers. The good thing you can move around the ship after or during your dinner. There are 3 level of ship deck with 3 entertainment band and atmosphere: family theme with air con room, outdoor deck with candle light theme which is very romantic and rooftop outdoor... More

Staying in Chinatown / Yaowarat

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown / Yaowarat
Better known as 'Yaowarat' among locals, Chinatown is Bangkok's bustling district that never sleeps. During the day, the main street and its small alleyways are filled with a vibrant mix of colours, scents and flavours coming from the roadside restaurants and all-day markets. The real action, however, happens after sunset. Surrounded by neon lights, Thais and tourists alike flock here around dinnertime to feast on some of the best street food in town. Escape the chaos by venturing a little further from the main road and discover hidden shrines, friendly locals and daily life in its purest form.
