The zoo is central and good for a afternoon out - and a cheap entry price. The zoo does not allow you to interact with the animals unlike most other zoo's in Thailand. The animal conditions are not the best and that typical of an Asian zoo.

This zoo is situated in the city center and is the oldest one in Thailand. As a consequence, the enclosures are too small for the animals who seem a bit sad. However, they are currently doing some renovations so I hope this will increase the animals living conditions. Don't get me wrong, the enclosures are small but mainly seem well... More

Not a big fan of Zoo, but I really didn't appreciate this place. Touristic trap, bad animals conditions.

It's not one of the best zoo in world but still very good quality. If you compare the price they charge, it's actually very good. You can Lions, Tiger, Penguin, Giraffe, Elephant and other animals. Good for kids.

Dusit Zoo is located within the Royal Property Area. The zoo is looked like a zoo in park, within the heart of Bangkok, surrounded with the Royal Palce and the Royal Thai Pariment House. So nice and peaceful.

Dusty zoo is a classic place to visit in Bangkok. Most of the enclosures are well kept and the layout makes it a nice place to walk around. It can get very hot, so is a good idea to wear light clothing and bring some shade such as umbrella. Cools drinks are available and there is a water park for... More

Compared to other zoos it's a bit basic but it's cheap to get in, 150baht, and has plenty of animal enclosures. Has elephants, hippos, tigers/big cats, giraffes, zebras, snakes, nocturnal area, koalas, bird zone, monkeys, gibbons and more. Only down side is that you have to pay extra for the seal show and the Kenya acrobat show. Also the food... More

So much to see- took 2 hours to go round the whole zoo. The enlcosures allow you to get very close to the animals, and give you a great view. Definatley worth the 150 baht entry fee.

It's an Asian zoo, so don't expect western size cages! But it's clean and most animals seems quite happy! Feeding hippos is really thrilling;-) we had a great afternoon there!

Went to the zoo, a little hesitantly, after reading mixed reviews. Overall the reviews were right, I have very mixed feelings. There was a good variety in the exhibits. Although it seemed a little more run down than I was expecting for a city as large as Bangkok. Some of the cages were small and poorly lit. The otters were... More

Staying in Dusit

Neighbourhood Profile
Dusit
When wandering around the Dusit Palace grounds, you'd almost forget you're still in a Southeast-Asian city. The Renaissance-style buildings and leafy gardens wouldn't be out of place in an European capital, and the serenity here is in stark contrast with the chaotic city life outside of its complex walls. Dusit is one of Bangkok's oldest districts, and while the rest of Bangkok is modernising at a rapid pace, Dusit seems to have stood the test of time. Come here to find family businesses in traditional shophouses, small-scale local markets and streets unfazed by modern city life.
