Really good planetarium star show!

The Bangkok Planetarium is one of those places that all Thais have been to as a kid. I however never had the chance, even though I live just a few km from it. So last week I decided to go have the childhood experience I never had. The planetarium is part of a complex called the National Science Center for... More

I will be honest, I didn't understand a word of it, even the pronunciation of some of the names of planets and constellations were a bit suspect, but I loved it. It was very cool to see the way all of the galaxies are laid out, and this must be the comfiest place in bangkok! The seats are laid back... More

I was there when people were busy at work so there's barely anybody else visiting the museum that time. While I know that the museum may not be the most complete museum you've ever visited, it may have something that you may not find at other museums. For example, to me it's the first museum that had real space equipment... More

After reading through the reviews on here, I had pretty low expectations for this attraction! It really wasn't that bad! We live in BKK though, prob wouldn't go if we were only visiting. It was a great school holiday day trip and yes, we did go to the English session at 10:00 am on Tuesday. Kids (8&10) had fun trying... More

Visited with our kids who are upper elementary school aged. We really enjoyed the planetarium show which takes about an hour. We then visited the science centre and there were some really cool things here but half the displays were broken which was a bit of a let down (but very "Thailand"). The newer displays had more English translations than... More

My kids loved it; it's a planetarium with a good range of science related exhibits, conveniently right in Bangkok off Sukhumvit. It was nice for me for that it was really inexpensive, nearly free related to the mall-oriented aquarium or water park attractions. Then again, it is a bit worn, being a Thai government facility, so not everything there works,... More

It is a museum maintained by Thailand government, facility is old and need immediate renovation. Many parts of the museum are closed. Only the building 2 (Fun Science) is well maintained. Many fun science and activities worth a visit. Planetarium show in Thai language except every Tuesday morning in English. Not recommend if you don't understand Thai at all. Entrance... More

The experience for my 3 year old was GREAT. As an English speaker 10% was in English.Like any Government building here it was warn, out of order and 50% closed. But for 60 baht adult and 30 baht child it was a good deal.

Staying in Thong Lor & Ekamai

Neighbourhood Profile
Thong Lor & Ekamai
Known as Bangkok’s hippest neighbourhood, Thong Lor and Ekamai is where the city's well-dressed and well-heeled spend their nights sipping cocktails in hidden speakeasies and posh restaurants. Live it up in one of Thong Lor's extravagant clubs and be prepared to brush shoulders with a Thai celebrity or two. While great for a night out, the area is nothing short of interesting during the daytime, either. Expect a mix of savvy coffee shops, pop-up bars and loads of vintage stores, brought to you by hip locals with eyes for design.
