- Companion7578373 contributionsGreat experienceGreat cooking class! Friendly and knowledgeable staff. I chose vegan options, and they were really good. They made sure to not give me fish sauce. They took us to a market on the way to the cooking class where we could take photos of vegetables and they would explain what they were and what they were used for. During the class, the instructions were good. Sometimes English was a bit hard to understand, but you could still follow the instructions. Also had a really nice garden tour.Visited September 2023Travelled with friendsWritten October 18, 2023
- Elly G13 contributionsAmazing experience. It was so much fun. We learnt lots of new cooking techniques and ate plenty of good food. They substitute food out and cater to dietary requirements well. They’ll pick you up as close to your hotel as possible and you get a nice trip around a market and then a tour round the garden. You don’t share with anyone unless you want to, and you will leave full.Visited November 2023Travelled with familyWritten November 8, 2023
- Damaris SophieWil, Switzerland13 contributionsA great experience!Very nice cooking school with a beautiful garden. Very clean, good teachers (Gift), good trainees, very lovely owner (Fonnie)! The food was soooooo delicious - everybody can choose of a big variety, what she or he wants to cook. I highly recommend this cooking school. Don’t miss it when you go to Chiang Mai! I will definitely come back to you when I visit Chiang Mai the next time!Visited November 2023Travelled soloWritten November 24, 2023
- LexaLondon, United Kingdom39 contributionsBest way to spend an afternoon in Chang MaiHad the best afternoon cooking and learning about thai ingredients. Fonnie, Gift, Naam and all the other ladies were so friendly and helpful. All five dishes they taught us to make were delicious. They took us around a local market and their own garden showing us what went into our food. We left the class feeling so full! Thank you so much for a great day. Definitely recommend!Visited November 2023Travelled with friendsWritten November 24, 2023

- NorthStar106253408601 contributionI recommend it to everyone.I didn't have to wait long at all, they took me to the market. I had a long time to walk around the market, then to school. I walked around the garden, and then I made several dishes. All were excellent!! I had a great time. All the teachers were nice and the owner was super friendly.Visited September 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten September 14, 2024

Incredible experience with so much included within the price. We were lucky to be the only ones at the evening class, which meant we had an amazing one to one session. It was very interesting to see where the ingredients come from, especially the home grown ones. Nicha was a very knowledgeable teacher and extremely helpful throughout. We learnt so much from the class and can't wait to try the cooking at home. Included within the price is a digital recipe book that has every recipe they offer and can be used at home.
Thank you so much to everyone!!!

Very enjoyable experience. There is the option of a morning, afternoon or evening course. We went for the evening session and ended up with another couple so essentially had 1 to 1 tuition. We were picked up from our hotel on time and taken to a market to learn about the ingredients we would be using later on. We all were able to decide our menu of 6 dishes and they catered to all requirements (we had a vegetarian, pescatarian and vegans- so did not see what the meat versions were like). It was a lovely location/building, we all had our own cooking areas and a nice area to eat the awesome dishes in. Afterwards we were dropped back to the hotel with a recipe book detailing all the things we had learned plus more!

Art and Arty were so fun and great energy to be around! They picked our group of 6 up at the hotel in Chiang Mai, we stopped the the market to be educated on the ingredients and flavors, then got to the property! The couple that own the space are wonderful and the atmosphere is so great! We made DELICIOUS 6 items and had the best time doing so. Laughing nonstop the whole time. The cookbook we got to keep is being utilized now that I’m back home!

The cooking school is a beautifully thought out building and system where I could pick out several menu items that I've enjoyed all around Chiang Mai and have wanted learn to make them and then they help you put everything together and make the meal even better than the street markets. Staff are incredibly friendly and considerate. The organic garden tour is well worth it: they show you the herbs commonly used in Thai cuisine and let you smell each of them! Who knew there were three different types of basil used in Thai cooking?

We really enjoyed this class. There was only four of us and we had lots of laughs with Art and Arty. They were really good teachers of Thai cooking and we taught lots of “Aussie” words. All the food was delicious, I couldn’t eat it all!

Nice experience, good food, but you are given the impression that you will prepare dishes from shopping to cooking and eating a complete meal. Not the case. You visit a lovely market for 15 minutes but do not shop. The meals are prepped for you. So ultimately you are only assembling, cooking, then eating. I thought I would learn more, but maybe my expectations were unrealistic given the time. Perhaps it would be better if they were less ambitious, and only 2 dishes were prepared in detail, instead of 5?

Dear Guest
thank you for your feedback, but let me explain.
About market you can buy anything what you want buy. But if you mean we have to pay you for you to buy your own things For this teaching curriculum, it is not possible. No school does it. Besides, you are a joint class. Not a private class.
We can't let you wander the market for a long time. Because you have to go back and cook 6 menus, which we think for the price of 800 baht for a joint class, there's nowhere else that offers as much as at our school.
Other places, for 800 baht, you only get to make 4 menus, no desserts, and you can't make curry paste yourself. Some places don't have gardens, so you can just walk to the market.
It's better, if you don't understand, you ask us, we are ready to explain it all to you. But if you have time You come back to take private classes with us. You will have time to buy your own things, prepare chicken, prepare pork, prepare shrimp, and prepare vegetables yourself. But you learn with join class and we can’t let you to prepare vegetables, cut chicken, or cut shrimp themselves because it will not be in proportion to the food. Please understand us.
We think that sometimes you get your hopes up too much from basic classes. Pay for cheap classes But want high class And never thought that what we did for you was so much. But it still isn't enough to meet your needs. There are many people like this in this world. People who want everything according to their own needs. Without thinking about other people's hearts, how much good they do is not enough.
All our employees Take good care of all our lovely customers. Finally, we wish you good luck and happiness in your travels. If you have any questions or need help from us, You can contact us at any time.

Absolutely loved our time at Siam Garden School. We were picked up from our hotel and taken to a local market, where the teacher told us all about Thai fruit & veg. We then strolled around the market independently and took some photos of products that we weren’t familiar with, when we arrived at the school we showed these photos to the team and they explained everything to us.
The grounds are beautiful. A big open cooking area, lovely garden with lots of fruit and veg. We made 5 dishes in the open kitchen and then had time to eat alone in a beautiful room with a big window looking out on the garden.
As it was just myself and my partner, our class was led by two of the younger members of staff in training and they were fantastic. We had such a laugh and they made sure to explain everything to us really well!
I would definitely recommend this school to anyone looking for something fun to do in Chiang Mai. Thank you so much for a wonderful day!

We had such a lovely personal and friendly service from Artie, Fonnie and crew! Great value, making plenty of courses. Portions weren't too excessively big but I was still super full by the end and took some home. It's been quieter since covid so it was just me and my partner and we had a nice relaxing day. Fonnie asked us if we'd like to stop by a market so she could explain a few of the staples that they get, and alternatives that we could find in the UK. Then we had a tour of all the herbs in their garden, and then onto the cooking. The pick up and drop off was really helpful too.
Thanks guys!

What an incredible experience. The Thai food we cooked was absolutely amazing. The people that taught us how to cook were so knowledgeable and welcoming. So happy we found this company. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a cooking class in Chiang mai!
