The Ratchaphruek Flower Gardens are a must-see when visiting the Chiang Mai area. The expansive gardens are incredibly picturesque. Bike rentals are available and, for less active travelers, an electric bus is available to take you around.

I went along December 2016 I didnt do any research on the park before I went. All I did was see it on Google maps and thought I would go and have a look. Once there I went in and found out you can either, walk around, cycle around or take a bus to get around the park. The bus stops... More

Beautiful public garden, well thought out and well maintained. As a horticulturist and garden designer I could spend several days taking in the garden detail. Especially recommend the orchid display. As a foreigner interested in learning about Thailand culture and history the displays featuring the work of the late King, the accomplishments of the Queen and the temple where invaluable.... More

We spent 3 hours on and off bicycles and had a really good time. The grounds were very well kept. We particularly like the orchids and the butterfly house. If we had it to do over, we would have started earlier in the morning and spent maybe as many as 5 hours there. I don't think we came close to... More

No idea why this isn't on most people's itinerary when visiting Chiang Mai because the Royal Park is something else! Forget any botanical gardens, this place blows them all away and then some. It's like a massive collection of botanical gardens along with one of the most beautiful temples in Thailand, all for 100 baht. Rent a bike when you're... More

the beautiful gardens are a sight to see, the time and effort to keep this huge park is amazing , it has trolley buses you can get off at any point in the park so you get to see the whole complex. Has a nations section where flora from different countries is on display

We were going to night safari so we stopped here (1.5 km away) earlier in the day. Best way to visit this place (besides biking around) would be to take the Tram to see everything first and then decide what you look. Takes 20-25' to Tram through the park. Why this is important? The Map does a poor job labeling... More

Came here for 2-3 hours one morning. It's 200 baht a person and includes tram, however everything is walkable and the tram is too long of a wait. Beautifully landscaped areas, nice wat. It's not a must see but a nice place to walk around and get out of the city. Good photo ops.

Like most attraction there is a cost but well worth the price. We are orchid fans never have we seen a more beautiful display. We took the free bus it drops you off at all the points of interest I recommend it, its jump on jump of, easy. You really need to allow half a day to see the main... More

I ride my bicycle 3 times a week there. It is a very nice botanic garden, between the Chiang Mai night safari and the most well known temple in CNX (for Thai)
