Like some reviewers had mentioned, this is more of a traditional market with lots of dried goods and dried fruit for tourists to buy back home. This was probably made for locals, but as tourism took off, you can increasingly see more stall catering to tourists - which explains why almost every stall in the middle area sells the same things. For the more local experience, walk the perimeter, inside and outside the building. At one corner you'll see fresh seafood sold in pails and also fresh meat and vegetables. But these are far and beyond. What you will see the most are dried fruits, tea and snacks on level 1 and ethnic products, clothes and bags on level 2. If you are interested, there is also a small section selling dried shrimps, mushrooms, etc. There are also some fruit and food stalls littered around, Generally, prices are very cheap here!

Do also come back during the night (seemed to be at its peak around 8, 9ish) as the roads outside the building transforms itself into a night market - mostly food stalls but lots to see and try! Similarly, prices are cheap. There's a guy selling coconut water and also jelly in a small cup. Buy that! It is really good - bought the jelly two nights in a row!

PS. One evening when i went it poured heavily. Surprisingly, some stall holders were still out there doing business!

Neat, well organised. Place not big, plenty of food. Plenty of Tuk Tuk waiting.
We bought Dried Longan and Pistachos.

Visit Warorot Market (though it's spelt Waroros on ride hailing app Grab, as well as the signage at the market) and Ton Lam Yai Market on the same day, they're right next to each other. Both are about the same. I was expecting a lively market selling fresh produce, meat, and everyday necessities but instead found a quiet market selling mostly dried and preserved food, and cheap clothing and toiletries on the second floor. If you're looking for dried local products, like dried mangoes and strawberries, then this is the place for you (although I bought the same items at Central Shopping Mall Airport). There's also a rather sad looking food court in the basement. I found the variety of products offered interesting, but wondered why every stall was selling the same thing.

I would not recommend this market to western people. Clothes are very small (short) sizes (though i’m only 170cm in height and there are not very many souvenir shops.
There are other night markets in chiang mai I would recommend over this market.
Prices are okay though, not very high.

A good many closed shops and stalls after Covid still but this was one of the most robust markets I've yet seen on this trip. I think I was the only 'farang' here while walking around too so I loved that part of it - it felt very authentic and I got some great fresh veggies that I haven't been able to find anywhere else (and for SUPER cheap!). You will find a lot of repeats here though of pre-packaged food so be prepared for a bit of overwhelm (plus, I felt that a step outside the market led to a far greater range/selection of fresh fruits & vegs).

Talked to the Reception staff about where we go to buy clothes and other items that you would use everyday to take home. Things like clothes, hand bags, shoes, timber gifts, marble gifts, gold and silver jewellery as well as food products. There was a bunch of spice sellers, there was fish, meat, fruit and vegetables as well. We bought a bunch of clothes for kids and us and we also got a bunch of shoes for our kids and some of the friends of the family as well. This is a place that you can by non name brand items that are not far from them, at a lot less than the real ones. Yes, the place did stick of fish and other rotting food products, so not for the faint of heart with the nose. Did get a lot of good bargains for home. we ended up at this markets several times during our trip to Thailand.

This is a day market catering to both locals and tourists. The market is big and consists of two buildings.

You can find local fruits, snacks, tea, clothes, souvenirs, etc here. The prices of the items are also reasonable.

You can find one of the best Northern Thai style sausages ( sai ua ) with chilli sold by one of the vendors here.

It's a local market. Very busy and not that clean. Products are not good quality but it is cheap. If you want to see local life, then come. Otherwise don't bother. Vendors can be quite pushy if you browse.

99.9% Thai shoppers. So you know you are getting the real experience shopping here. Bargaining/haggling is accepting... but do it in a friendly way. Tho there are products made in China here, you can find authentic Thai products if you know what you are looking for. Two things of note: excellent food court and the BEST sai ou (northern Thai sausage) stand..... just look for the large crowds lining up to purchase.
