Chanced upon this after Wat Umong. Interesting local market with lots of food. I bought fried pig's skin here! There are also thai susages and many other local food here. Many locals shop here.

Conveniently located kitty-corner from the Royal Project (where we mostly buy veggies), this easy-to-navigate/shop market is good for fruit (fresh and dried), attractively packed (local) loose herb tea, nuts and various roasted beans/rice etc. They have meat, too. Although this market is definitely not a tourist attraction, it's good for newbies w/lots of prices marked and friendly, accommodating merchants. Be... More

This market is just up the road from Wat Suan Dok next to the canal. The early mornings are interesting when a lot of monks pass the market to receive food in return for blessings. The market is small and nothing special - quite a good fruit selection especially strawberries when in season.

We visited this market as it was close to Wat Suan Dok which we were visiting. It is situated at the junction of Suthep Road and the Outer Ring Road. It was a typical local Thai market selling fruit, vegetables, fresh meat of all kinds including a big box of large centipede type insects ready for deep frying. There were also... More

You can get fruits, meat, veggies, dried fruits and fresh made thai food items to snack while shopping or take away. Its totally in a Thai setting so dont expect people to speak english or have... It is just next to Brighton Chiang mai Christian Centre run by a Singaporean pastor. We were there for English service when the locals told us about this market. Interesting local food and products. Good experience.

I make it a habit to visit the wet market at least once whenever i travel for holidays overseas. There is where you can buy fresh fruits or salad other than what your hotel can provide. For cooking enthusiasts, you can buy saffron for very cheap. A whole kilogram of saffron only costs 350 baht or about MYR35. That's sick!... More

It's a medium size market..very near to suthep road..it sells all kinds of food..from fresh fish until well cooked noodles..some shops sell fashion but the price is too expensive compared with waroros market..it's a market for you to buy everyday needs..not for sightseeing or buying souvenirs..
