We did a three day trek staying in remote villages. I can't recommend this highly enough. Our guides, Surthip and Tuk (sorry for the spelling) were amazing. Both were local to the area and one was from the first village that we stayed. It was very interesting to know about their lifes and the history of the villages. Our second... More

I have been trekking with Trekking Collective just about every year since 2009 (seven visits I think), and an outing with them has on many occasions been the main reason for a trip to Chiang Mai while on holiday in SE Asia. Every trek has been different, and they're obviously doing something right seeing as I keep going back for... More

Do NOT book with Trekking Collective. Outrageously expensive for the very poor quality. We did a one day trip to Chiang Dao caves, orchid farm and one Red Lahu hill tribe village. Our guide, Mr. Chang was pleasant, however he was very hard to understand, sometimes impossible. His car was old and rattling. The a/c was barely adequate and twice... More

Stay away from this company! They are one of the most expensive and you would think they offer the highest quality. You will be disappointed. Our guide showed up in a dilapidated vehicle which rattled and failed to start twice. He was completely out of shape and struggled to keep up on our hike. His english was poor making effective... What a wonderful experience. Our visit formed part of my final degree dissertation research. We did a one day tailor made trek including the elephant experience.....showing how you can interactive with the elephants in a positive way. Our guide Chang was extremely informative and the intamacy of the trek allowed us to experience parts of the area we would not... More

This is so much more than a trek, much more than a vacation outing, I found it to be educational, enlightening, thought provoking, challenging, envogorating, rewarding and yes, a lot of fun.... I booked the three day Trek and was lucky to get Chang as my guide, Caroline did a wonderful job getting my trip organized at very short notice.... More

My boyfriend and I did Trek Option 7 DOI LUANG MOUNTAIN ADVENTURES for 3 days, with 2 days trekking and 1 day bamboo rafting. I'd highly recommend it! Our guides were Suthep and Tur. They were so great, Suthep spoke great English and explained everything, and Tur let us stay with his family in their hill tribe village and was... More

The Trekking Collective countryside trek in Chiang Mai was one of the highlights of my trip to Southeast Asia. Like the reviewer in early January, my friend and I had the pleasure of having Chang as our guide. He is knowledgable, upbeat and a lot of fun. We stopped at a local market on the way to the mountain to... More

We did a five day trek from the Thai - Myanmar/Burma border. Hiking from 5-25 km per day through the djungle. Overnight stay at hill tribe families, an experience you probably can't find anywhere else! We were a group of three persons, accompanied by two local guides, Sutep and Tert. Sutep, the social and lingvistic guy makes sure that you... More

Couldn't imagine a better day. Chang was our guide and he was incredible - knowledgable, funny, and kind. Our trek was 17km and was challenging, beautiful, and unique. We did not run into a single other tourist group and had the mountain to ourselves. Chang educated us about the local culture, environment, plants, etc and was an absolutely wonderful man.... More
