There is no guarantee if you will be able to visit the museum. Also, there are no tuk tuks or taxis there waiting for you. Try to figure out a way to go though.

This is not a review but to let other visitors know that it is closed and will open next month. It's out of the way and you'll just get disappointed just like me to arrive there and be told it's closed. Also, make sure you have transpo back as I didn't see any tuk tuk or songthaew nearby.

Relatively new building on a peninsula in the middle of a pond. Very pretty outside and for history nerds inside. Though a/c lures very strong. They give you a spare shoes for the museum carpet. If you find old agricultural tools and clothing for your taste you might benefit from visiting. No foto. Donations.

the entrance is past the police station on chotana road, a little further west than the map indicates. Entrance today was an enforced 40 baht donation. A large collection of artifacts and movies. Raises more questions then it answers, but that's ok.

We enjoyed a nice, rather long, walk to this museum after lunch at Maya Mall. The setting gives a nice sense of being in the countryside. There is a beautiful and serene lake with many people fishing as well as many eating establishments located around the lake. The actual museum has 2 sections. There is an outdoor area where you... Situated in the north of the city on the road to Fang next to the racecourse. It contains displays about various hill tribes and is built in the middle of a square lake which area is owned by the Army as well as the racecourse and golf course, and is surrounded by bars on all four sides. There is also... More

This museum is nice to see if you are nearby, but not really worth a ride there. The exhibits were interesting, and there are explainations in english, but nothing out of the ordinary. However the location is beautiful- right in the middle of a lake. If you are in walking distance I would reccommend stopping by.

We cycled to Chang Puak Road (ask for the Chang Puak Police Station, if you are coming over by public transport) and found the Tribal museum and the tribal village locked and shut, and this was on a Friday late morning around 11.30 to noon. It is set on a promontory of an ?artificial lake which is ringed by small... More

We were not planning to visit any Hill Tribes during our stay in Chiang Mai so we thought we would check out the Tribal Museum. It's in a lovely building surrounded by a lake. Upon entering we were greeted by the friendly staff & shown into the lovely little theatre room. A short film gave an overview & a bit... More
