While this was a good way to pack fun island activities into one day. I cannot recommend this tour. The animal cruelty witnessed was extremely horrible to watch and very upsetting for our entire party. The elephant park was depressing, elephants were kept in tiny corals and were hit in front of us to stand on their hind left, play with balls, and do other tricks. The wild cat kingdom has some very drugged lions. And we were brought to see a chained monkey fetch and open coconuts. The monkey was also hit in front of us. All other activities were wonderful, but please do not support this tour company until they partner with more humane animal organizations or until they omit these activities.

Dear Beachesluvr, Mr. Ung's Magical Safari offers the "Just Jungle Safari" which is the no animals in captivity tour. We think you may have perhaps reviewed us but have gone on a different tour. We noticed that you did your tour in October 2019 and have posted this review in June 2020. Mr. Ung's Magical Safari Tours loves and respects animals too.

DO NOT BOOK THIS!!!!!!!! Vile. Money making scam and taken to dirty (mainly free entry) locations. One bottle of free water and told to keep bottle for refills - no thank you. Whole trip was a mess and completely pointless. Rammed in to a jeep sitting uncomfortably going to free destinations. Pray you have average sized persons on jeep as one uncomfortable ride if not. On arrival to these places to find you pay additional money for extra activities. We didn't want to do zip line so literally waited at the side along with the other 20/27 people who didn't do this activity. Waterfalls were the most disgusting and unhygienic. Very few people went in the stagnant water. 10baht to go to the toilet in the most disgusting conditions. Land not well maintained and dangerous. Plastic bottles everywhere and bins not emptied. Was told swim area was cleaned 5 days ago at waterfalls and staff proceeded to prove this to us all by showing us pictures on his phone cleaning it, how embarrassing. Disgusting!!! One man speaking Thai, German and English for separate groups - have to wait till he has spoke to individual groups, very little information provided. Mumified Monk, most bizarre unauthentic place filled with donation boxes absolutely everywhere. Trip filled with people disappointed and shaking heads in disapproval whole time. Everyone was waiting at jeep at each stop to leave the location as fed up. You'd have a better time at the beach with much more positive experience. Please do not book this trip, it's laughable how bad it was! Lunch was good and relaxed and magic Buddah garden was beautiful. That's about it. The chosen temples all had ongoing construction work. Staff got more talkative/tried to be funny towards end of trip know there was a potential to get a tip. Not worth money to be taken to unhygienic places, waterfalls being the main one.

This was such fun! The blurb for this mentions the word 'rugged' in relation to the jeep several times. Note that word when you book! This is not your regular day trip. This is for adrenaline junkies and the adventurous. There were 8 in our 'Batman' Jeep, who we quickly jelled with. At the first stop of the day, we met up with a further three jeeps and from then on, we travelled around as a convoy for much of the day. There is a lot of playful banter and crazyness between the drivers. Our driver/guide was brilliant, spoke good English and was completely and utterly zany! A real character. A second guide joined us for some of the journey too. For the adventurous, you can sit on the roof of the jeep too, but be warned to hang on tight as once you go off road, those jeeps crank up to the next level. The meal provided was traditional Thai and delicious. Bottles of water are provided several times during the day. The zip wire was great fun and we were encouraged to do the first upright and the second upside down. All the stops along the way were just the right length of time to see/do the sites/activities provided. Overall, this was a real enjoyable and fun day. We haven't laughed so much in long time either. This is definitely to be recommended. Note: wear trainers for this trip rather than flip flops.

Yesterday we had the pleasure of enjoying Mr Ung’s Magical Safari Tour, and it was exactly that! After being picked up from our hotel, we made our way to collect our team and head to the coast to see the Grandmother and Grandfather stones, ate some coconut ice cream, sold at one of the local stalls, and generally soak up some sunshine. Jonny was our tour guide for the day, and was amazingly entertaining and a fantastic host. He spoke both German and English, as well as his native Thai language. From here, we moved on to the ‘mummified monk’, and received a blessing whilst there. After this, we headed further up the mountain to a waterfall with pools and exhilarating slides...and EXHILARATING they were (photo attached). We booked this alongside the experience, as it incurs a separate fee...totally worth it! Full of adrenaline, we headed down the road to a zip line adventure (Sky Fox Zipline), again this was purchased alongside, as an added extra, it is not compulsory, but is 100% worth the adrenaline rush. From here we were taken up into the mountains to a restaurant with beautiful views of the island, where lunch was already prepared and waiting for us. We had rice, Thai green curry, a red curry and fried vegetables, delicious. I should mention at this point that you are given bottles to fill water up for free at various points, if you want a different drink at the restaurant you need to pay extra for this too, but it’s very cheap. Full up, the 4x4’s were cranked up and we went off on a real off-road drive! Very fun and, for the brave amongst you, you can sit on the top of the van!! First stop, the magical Buddha garden (Tarnim and Magic Garden), full of fairytale-esque statues and magic. Utterly beautiful! Then we made our way to our final destination, a Buddha on top of the mountain (Pra Buddha Dipankara) complete with incredible views and rubber trees. Absolutely spectacular! The team then took a group photo (again, see attached), to finish off our amazing day, then drove us all back to our hotels. We would definitely recommend this as a day on Samui. Worth the money, by far, and a complete adventure. 5 stars from us!!! Things to know: - wear trainers, rather than flip flops - take clothes to cover shoulders and knees for temples - no need for snacks, there are stalls everywhere - eat a big breakfast, you need the energy - time is limited at each stop, so make the most of it and see everything! - tip the drivers - drivers don’t tend to speak English, so the tour guide is your best point of contact
