Hanoi Cooking Centre established in 2009, remains Hanoi's only purpose...

Hanoi Cooking Centre established in 2009, remains Hanoi's only purpose built cooking school and culinary centre. A variety of cooking classes and street food tours are available twice daily.

All classes begin with welcome tea, while a chef gives a brief introduction to the local Chau Long market and Vietnamese market culture generally. After a 3 minute walk guests arrive at the market and are immediately submerged into the hustle, bustle and wonder of one of the last remaining wet markets in Hanoi. Our chef will explain the produce and offer various samples along the way. After returning to the centre you will then participate in a 'hands-on' cooking class and the morning / afternoon finishes in our air-conditioned restaurant where you and your class mates can enjoy the dishes you have prepared along with free flow drinks. All guests receive a complimentary and much sort after Hanoi Cooking Centre apron and recipe cards. Class + lunch = approximately 3.5hrs

For guests preferring a more adventurous time, our 5 hour street food tour also includes the market tour and then takes guests to 5 of the best known (amongst the locals and our HCC staff) street food venues across Hanoi. The number 1 rule for this tour = come hungry!

For guests with limited time try our Market Tour & Lunch or Dinner package for a truly authentic Hanoi culinary experience.

They were able to take a group of six into the morning Street Food class only a few days before. It was great fun to walk through the market as context for the foods we prepared - beef pho, papaya salad, spring rolls, and bbq pork. The cooking class was well organized from watching the chef at the front of... More

We had a fantastic morning exploring Hanoi and the many flavours of Vietnamese food. Our party of 3 has several dietary requirements and our guide was able to ensure everyone was catered for everywhere we went. Chatting as we moved between markets and food vendors we learnt much about the history and culture of Vietnam and would recommend the walking... More

Had a great time. Went to the market and showed us all the interesting stuff! (Frogs, pig tongue, hearts, Livers) fruit and veg was so fresh. Demonstration was great. The 2 chefs were very funny. Food was delicious! Brought a 8, 11 and 14 year old and they all loved it!

I've just finished the tour and it was great! We were greeted with a warm smile and cup of tea at the centre then a very nice, friendly guide who spoke good English took us around a couple of markets ands number of food stalls and cafes. He explained all of the different types Of food in the markets, types... More

Informal and fun. Chef Hau was a pleasure to work with and kept the session lighthearted with plenty of humour - and we came away with some great tips, even for preparing food that we were already familiar with. Highly recommended.

Overall we had a positive experience at HCC with tasty dishes that were easy to make. The space is small and lacks character inside for cooking. Though the instructors are qualified, sometimes the strong accent made understanding a challenge and there wasn't much humor or unique techniques shared, and the market tour is basic compared to other cooking classes in... Wow. What can I say about this amazing Vietnamese cooking experience? The kitchen was of professional grade, and chef and staff were amazing. We went with the chef to a local market in the morning to purchase the ingredients for our class, and that was amazing in itself. We learned about spices and herbs and made 4 dishes after which... I took 2 tours here.. first the street food tour & it was so good I came back to do the market tour and cooking class. Both were run with enthusiasm, professionalism & a high degree of fun. I can't recommend this place highly enough for anyone who wants an interactive, informative and overall excellent way to truly connect with... More

The class was so fun and we learnt alot about traditional Vietnamese cooking. It wasnt too hard either, beginner cooks would be fine! It was so cool to have the food we cooked in the class served to us. 5 out of 5 would recommend.

We had a private Street Food Class with Chef Hung, and really learned lots on our market tour of Chau Long market and returned to the kitchen where we prepared Pho, omelette spring rolls and Bun Cha. It was a very professional kitchen and we learned about and prepared each dish quite methodically. Then we ate our creations at the... More
