Everything has been marked up and the place is catered mainly for tourist. I recommend walking to the back, outside the main building where the wet market is for a more authentic local experience.

Mostly wholesales, but you can also get stuff for yourself. Its super busy, the corridors between the shops are super small, so don't be surprised if you are looking at some things you would like to buy and then get pushed away. Its not a must see, but defenitly funny experience; and don't expect to much bargaining, they are pretty... More

We stopped at Dong Xuan Market before dinner to do some browsing and shopping. It was only about 5:30pm and the whole place was in shut-down mode. Most of the stalls were closed, people were bundling up their items, and there was garbage everywhere. It was a strange sight to see and we didn't really feel welcome there, as though... More

If you like tight spaces and looking at things for a split second before being pushed out of the way, then this is the place for you. This was a tad too busy for me. Tip: Don't go hungover, it's rough.

With tens of stalls selling everything you can think of, this market is the place to buy souvenirs, clothing, bags, etc in Hanoi.

We love markets, especially food markets, large and small, city and village, as they are a window to local culture and lifestyle and provide endless photo opportunities. Whatever it may have been years ago, Dong Xuan is not that kind of market today. It's cramped, crowded with delivery boys and full of cheap clothing and household items. If you want... More

It's a cool place to walk around, buy some souvenirs, bump into the local vendors and see some weird work poses!

OK for a quick walk around the place but not for casual shopper. Goods spilled onto walkways, making it difficult for older folks or those with children. No food outlets inside the market. Not worth bargaining. Some stuffs asking price more than at regular shops in the Old Quarter. Spent less than half an hour with family to do a... More
