The mission of the Museum is scientific research, collection, documentation, conservation, exhibition and preserving the cultural and historic patrimony of the nation's different ethnic groups. The museum also serves to guide research, conservation, and technology that are specific to the work of an ethnographic museum.

We visited the museum with a guide and found it valuable for a history of ethnic groups of Vietnam. It isn't a must and an hour will allow a visitor to gain all the information they can retain. The water puppet show was very good...More

Very interesting exhibits on the ethnic minorities. You can tell they are underfunded. The garden is the best part.

the museum gave us a huge insight into the different tribes in vietnam,there a specially built houses on the huge grounds. there is a new global section which is not fully utilised. we thoroughly enjoyed the vist. you can do without a guide

Great museum to see the different ethnics and their day to day living. I especially loved the outside area where they built huts that you can walk into and explore and really get a feel of how they live(d). You would need around 2-3 hours...More

A detailed look at the 54 ethnic groups that make up Vietnam with artifacts inside and traditional houses outside, many of which were brought for all over the country. Worth a visit to know about the make up of Vietnam.

Very interesting museum about the different etnical groups in Vietnam ! We loved the outside area with the typical houses. Very nice for taking pictures. It takes about 2 h/2,5 h to visit

part of a tour, when we arrived and was shown round inside i nearly made a run for it. very boring but outside was interesting with the different houses

Yes. I was there today (a Saturday) and there were several water puppet performances all day.
