The mission of the Museum is scientific research, collection, documentation, conservation, exhibition and preserving the cultural and historic patrimony of the nation's different ethnic groups. The museum also serves to guide research, conservation, and technology that are specific to the work of an ethnographic museum.

Visited mainly the inside of the museum as the day was extremely hot when we went. 115 heat index. Great understanding of the country and different cultures within Vietnam.

If you want to explore the life of ethnic people that much, I highly recommend you should take a tour to Sapa or Mai Chau. There's much more than just seeing a few typical points in here.

This's best of those we visited when in Hanoi. It's very large with many buildings and exhibits of Vietnam ethnic fgroups. Much to learn about Vietnam culture here!

Very informative museum .. set out well .. but hot! Gardens contained real tribal buildings which we could walk through. Had lunch at the restaurant and enjoyed it.

This museum definitely surpassed my expectations. I was never bored the entire time I was there. Truly an educational tour. Should you want to take pictures, you have to pay an extra fee for this. You have to mention this while buying your entrance ticket...More

Hi, lt was not quite easy. I took a public bus no. 14 from hoan kiem to the museum just google map your location & destination and you can see the public bus number around the city in Hanoi only show them where you will drop... More
