West Lake is a delightful surprise in the middle of Hanoi. Go to the Sunset Bar at the Intercontinental Hotel and watch the sunset over the lake as the buildings of downtown illuminate for the night.

A beautiful setting. Watch for the fishermen and locals along the sides. If time take a boat just to see the country.

This is perhaps the largest lake in Hanoi. Every early morning, if you walk around, you could see many people come here to exercise. I came here to take picture and enjoyed every moment.

I walked around the whole lake on a chilly day and Im sure on a warm sunny day, the atmosphere must be nicer. There are some nice photo opportunities and if you can, bring a lunch and eat around there.

For me, I prefer to rent a bike or take a cyclo(about 5 USD/ hour) to go around the lake. This season, the weather is good for walking as well. There is a nice flower market near by West Lake I've always loved to visit... More
