An enjoyable and cheap cultural experience

The show is in vietnamese so you may not have a clue what is happening, however it's a not to missed experience due to the skill of the puppeteers. They should stop the use of the people using their mobile phones to film though which not only spoils your show it must surely spoil theirs as well.

This is just one of those cultural tourist attractions you should experience. It's interesting even though you can't understand the story but that's okay. It's cheap 45 minutes of entertainment. It is definitely a break from the crowded streets. The instruments and singing are also a cultural experience for all ages. If you have 45 minutes while in Hanoi then... More

This experience was truly unique! A puppet show where the puppeteers are waist deep in water! Complete with live music in a quaint theatre - this is a must see in Hanoi!

We really enjoyed it. The show is all in Vietnamese of course, but that didn't stop us appreciating the story line. The coordination was great and some of the puppets were particularly impressive. We enjoyed the live music accompanying it. It is so cheap at only 100,000 VND each so we felt it was well worth it for the 45... More

Lovely show. A bit like Punch and Judy in water but 100 times better ( trust me it's very sweet and memorable I just can't think how better to explain it). There is also great live music accompanying the puppets. We managed to get front row seats which gave us an amazing view but it's small place so I except... More

The music was excellent and the puppets great. The girl on the one string instrument and the gentleman on the Flute were amazing both musically and a pleasure to watch.

A bit of a toerist hotspot. Nevertheless it gives a nice impression of the vietnamees culture (as far as we know).

If like me, you enjoy puppets and water- then the water puppet show could be for you! Not sure what was going on, but I enjoyed the lights and loud noises- they soothe me. The puppets were good, not overly coordinated, but given they are inanimate I will let them off. I would recommend a visit, if only to escape... More

Sorry but we thought this was bad. 45 minutes was way too long and repetitive. The paint was coming off the puppets and the fabric ripped. Maybe if we understood Vietnamese it could have been better. Our son fell asleep!
