It seem very lonely and special. It was built after the king Le Loi returned the fairy sword back to the turttle Genie (based on the legend).

Ithink the best way to see it is to walk all way along the banks of the Lake.It is lovely and you can take the photos from different angels.

This is a nice place to see in the middle of the lake in Hanoi. It is also a popular photo spot and is especially good to experience at night when it is lit up along with the nearby red bridge. A must see!

Thap Rua Tower, also known as Turtle Tower, commemorates local folk hero Le Loi. Its not accessible to the public and thankfully has not been restored by the looks of things so maintains its old world charm.

Thap Rua or Turtle Tower is a small tower in the middle of Sword Lake. In the evenings it is lighted and the tower looks mysterious illuminated in the peaceful lake.

In the center of Hoan Kiem Lake, Turtle Tower has their own feature. Do you know there is a French person having built to hide the tomb?

You can see the tower clearly when walking around the lake. It’s also lit up during the night so it makes a nice scene when it’s dark.

The tower is in the middle of a large lake and not that easy to see. I didn't see any turtles when I was in Hanoi.
