I was surprised at how small this train station is - at first glance there is absolutely nowhere nearby to get a decent meal. However we managed to find somewhere really good to while away an hour or two and we had a very enjoyable...More
We went to book our overnight train to Sapa. The station itself seems fine, basic but adequate for its purpose. Unfortunately we found that the staff were incredibly rude, they were not interested in offering us their help or services and would rather look at...More
As it was Tet and nothing better to do we wandered over to the station. Thinking Grand central style!! Not worth the effort. The best bit about the train is where the train and tracks are very close to the houses and they have to...More
On early Morning arrived in Nighttrain from Sapa we took a Taxi to our Hotel. Taximeter was manipulated and we shoud pay 380k for a drive we know shoud be 50-100k! We did not pay this!
Be aware from this Taxi-Operator - look Pix!

I booked through Baolao was great online ticketing service. There is a small extra charge about less than $1 australian from memory but well worth no hassle. The ticket is emailed to you as pdf which you can show the train conductors straight from your phone before boarding. Depending on how busy I wouldnt rely on getting it from the station. If you book a sleeper get the bottom bunk.
