Only on very few occasions I give a "Terrible" but this train (well the Orient Express part) deserves it. For 275 US$ we got a very small cabin, called VIP cabin (upper beds are folded), in a run-down carriage, smelly, dirty (especially the toilet) and...More

We booked a VIP cabin (same like the normal cabin, upper beds are folded) in the hope of expecting a quiet night in a proper cabin. First of all, we did not expect a european standard but i never saw so many coackroaches on one...More

Don’t be conned thinking you have booked a bargain because of the low costs in Vietnam. It’s cheap because it’s fake! The cabins are cramped, the toilets stink and there’s nothing deluxe about it. Sa Pa is great as was the trekking but avoid this...More

The reason for the strange title is because while I was riding on “The Orient Express” I was reading Agatha Christy’s book, “Murder on the Orient Express”. So much fun. The ride from Sa Pa to Hanoi was great. I had a 4 person soft...More

Our train to Sapa, was wonderful. We stayed in the VIP cabin for two. However, our train back from Sapa to Hanoi was literally as if we were sleeping in a washing machine. A couple hours after departing, the train started to make loud persistent...More

Yes it is. I booked through Victoria express which had a carriage on the train. It was an experience. Sapa was well worth the journey.
