Novel presentation of local stories by skilled puppeteers and backed up by a traditional 6 piece ‘orchestra’ who also provide the voices – it is all in Vietnamese - the stories are easy to follow but before you go in grab a programme in several languages including English as this sets out the scenes with explanatory titles – good fun... The entire show takes about 45 minutes and it is simply amazing to see the way that they control the movement of puppets, so synchronized and in tune with the music played by the live musicians. However, the songs and conversations are all in Vietnamese. Unless you understand the language, you will only be watching the movements of the puppets... More

Seeing the show was a highlight to our trip. It would have been perfect if it was translated in English. ☺

I went with family with my husband and 1 year old son. My son LOVED this show. He was constantly awed by the sudden dolls that would pop up from behind the banana leaf curtain. I didn't understand a thing but enjoyed the show as well. Me and my son sat waayy behind but when all the visitors were already... More

I was very excited to see this, but when i bought the tickets and went inside saw the entire place was full. Only to realize afterwards that it was in the local language and there were no translations.Nowhere it was mentioned that it would be in Vietnamese.

Unique show rich in Vietnamese heritage. Short show performed in Vietnamese but easy to follow the story line. Watch your pockets when you leave the performance but trust the cycle drivers.

We enjoyed the performance of this Vietnamese ancient art which has a long association with Vietnam. It is unique puppetry performed in a pool of water. The puppets dance and slide elegantly over the water syagr controlled by a whole troupe of puppet masters hiding behind a screen. The vocalists and musicians at the side of the stage performed synchronised... More
