The museum is located in a very beautiful and nostalgic building (built by French?) It is a landmark in itself! No wonder many newly wed couples chosen to take their wedding pictures here! However, the exhibition inside truly needs improvement! Or it will not be attractive to those living in the city after one visit! It needs to have periodical... More

While I can't say this museum is a must and it's far from being done perfectly I came to new conclusions after the visit. I could suddenly understand those living in a closed (here: controlled by Communist) society can believe in their (propagandist) truth. Couple things in Vietnam history made me think a lot: - if the South was so... More

This museum had a great range of dioramas outlining the past history of Vietnam and Indo-china. We did not see any "war related" items, although several cannon were outside a 'back door'. It was intriguing to see the history and pre-history of this region. There is a coffee shop for drinks.

The building was obviously wonderful at one time, but is now in a state of disrepair, & quite depressing. It didn't have any articles or information of any great interest, only a few nice old photos of Saigon. It was very much a waste of time... such a shame when it's a museum representing such a great city with a... More

Free entry to this museum and location made this an easy place to visit. It provided a good look into the cultures of the tribal people with displays of various wedding attire, accessories and rituals. Other displays also included many musical instruments and of the history of education. Many local students were there at this museum during my visit.

Walked by and thought we'd check it out after hearing good things. Unfortunately we were disappointed, it was a huge let down. Wasn't very interesting lucky it was only 15,000 dong ($1 usd) Don't waste your time, we left after about 20 minutes.

May not be a must to visit but it's good if one can take some time out to go to this museum. Very informative n 1 hour is enough to cover it all.

Glad the ticket was cheap, as this place is very dilapidated with very little information about the exhibits. The brief pamphlet you get is mostly useless, and there's no obvious plan to the way things are organised. There are very few information panels, and the English translations are poorly done. Most are just recitations of data with no context or... More
