This is the city's biggest, most authentic market. You can find almost anything you need here, from basic supplies to souvenirs. The food is outstanding and the people-watching is great even if you don't buy anything.

I had just come from Siem Reap, Cambodia and the shopping there was half the prices for the same clothing items in this market. Hair clips were the same with greater variety in this market and the knock-off purses were a positive here at Ben Thanh. I was leaving soon or would have purchased some fruit as the variety is... The Ben Thanh Market is a very good experience, not like your markets Damascus or Egypt. But you can buy almost anything your can think of. It's worth a visit.

Ahopping experience but stall keepers are constantly hassling you if you pause or even walking by their stall. Better place is Siagon square which is a block or 2 away if you want a quieter life and time to look.

This is worth a quick visit for as long as you can stand. The constant barrage to buy something is very tiring. Makes me want to run for the exits after about 10 minutes. All of the merchandise here is essentially junk and every booth has the EXACT same thing. Nothing original anywhere in he market so don't plan to... More

I am not a great fan of markets and although I felt that I should see it, I am still no enthusiast! It does have a very large number of stalls but as this is an indoor market, it was very hot and stuffy. It was difficult to browse without being pestered, but I am aware that this is a... More

When you arrive at the market you are amazed to find 2600 stalls selling everything from food to souvenirs. This is a shopper dream if you have the patience to walk around and be prepared to negotiate the best price.

Definitely a must visit when visiting hcmc. Be careful of your belongings as this location is infamous for lots of pickpocketing. Make sure you put your bag in front of you . Never away from your sight ! If you purchase more than one/two items you can definitely work a bargain with the shop owners . I was going to... More
