An Dong market is worth a visit if you have sufficient time in Ho Chi Minh city. The area is relatively neat and clean. Though the store owner generally don’t speak English, they are still relatively friendly. The store selling handicraft will usually have staff...More

This is a great place for lacquer ware and the prices are very reasonable. The stall owners are also not in your face like Ben Thanh. Besides lacquer products heaps of other things to buy although we only came here for lacquer. However I plane...More

Prices here seem to be a lot cheaper than Ben Thanh or any supermarkets, but all shopping done in Cantonese or Mandarin. Sells dried fruit, candies, coffee, nuts for decent prices and has a variety of dessert/food stalls. Wish we came here earlier!

We visited An Dong Market by chance and do note that this is a wholesale centre. Most stall owners do not speak English and not interest to sell small quantity. However, we managed to pick up cashew nuts at Dong 260,000/kg at basements, some shoes...More

No English is spoken here. But hand language and the handy calculator on your cell phone will do! Money talks - the international language of this trade. Mostly wholesale so bargains are to be had if you ate persistent. Buying in multiples could get you...More

As long as you are happy to pick your way throught the very small aisles and sift/scan through the huge amount of stuff there you will find some great buys. Certainly well worth going to, you just need plenty of time!

A lot of people got confused between An Dong Square and Ab Dong Market. They are situated next to one another. The square is a shopping mall with air con. The market is hot and stuffy and has food stalls at the basement. It has...More

The market is not very pretty. It is crowded with stores but not with people. We did not see other tourists there. Walkways are narrow. The stores selling the similar products are grouped together, so it was like navigating a maze. It is an open...More

There is nothing here most tourists would probably want. A lot of clothing. The British call it “old toss”. It was interesting to see families buy new clothing to start fresh for the Lunar New Year. The food market here is nothing worth taking a...More

For my experience, it took about 20~25mins, not that far except that the traffic jam on the roads can cause some slow down or delay. My taxi fare cost about US $4~$5. Dont worry, taxi in Vietnam is cheap but make sure you... More
