It was a rainy day but the lady we found made our day. With passion and knowledge she helped us understand and show about history and Hue handicraft. They produce traditional hats, incense, rice alcohol, paper flowers. There is also a little shop where you can buy some nice souvenirs. We spent 2 hours in a very welcoming place with beautiful atmosphere, drinking tea as well. And also we receive a nice present, a paper flower. It was much more than I expected and I am very grateful for this.

Many things that kids can do from making kites, flowers and the Vietnamese hat. Great staff that can talk english, kept kids entertained making and painting. Can also peruse quality souvenirs with out being heckled. Thanks so much.

We visited Luc Bo Cultural Space with our daughters of 7 and 9. They had a wonderful time painting their own conic hats and painting kites while we enjoyed a royal tea. Very friendly staff, eager to communicate and share some tips about Hue. Absolutely recomended! Perfect to combine with a visit of the imperial city of Hue as it just a 5 min. walk from the exit/entrance.

We were warmly welcomed with royal tea and candid crisp grapefruit peel and sweet tongue tickling candid ginger. We paid 150 000 dong for the full set of activities and thought it was well worth it.
We started by painting traditional kites with acrylic paint. You will get a brief overview of of the history of kites and will be able to make your cloth into a kite. With luck you can fly it outside in the lovely garden.
We then saw how conical hats were made and we helped prepare the fern for the hat. As it takes 6 hours to finish a hat, we got given an already made one. Each hat has a story to tell and each hat is special in its own way.
The last step is constructing lotus flowers from paper and hot glue. The flowers are so easy to make and the English speaking guide was so helpful. It was also a lovely workspace. Thank you Luc Bo team. (Ollie aged 12)

The day before yesterday we spend some time at this wonderful place! A very friendly (good English speaking) staff helped us to make our own paper lotusflower and build a kite. We had fun! Good to have this visit as part of your itinerary. And in the end mrs. Duc Tue sent us the pictures taken while we were busy creating! We recommend the Luc Bu Culture Space!

We finished our day's tour with the wonderful I Love Hue ladies at the Luc Bo Cultural Space. It is nicely laid out with a few artifacts and the traditional outfits worn by the staff were designed by a famous Vietnamese designer. I made paper lotus flowers with a very patient young man. Afterwards as we were enjoying tea with the staff, I mentioned I would like to take to Canada a game I had seen many Viets playing. One of the staff immediately offered to take me to a nearby store. When we came back, we all went out to the courtyard and had a fun half hour while they tried to teach me to play. Much giggling and amusement at my ineptitude.

We stumbled upon this activity through a recommendation from our hotel. My husband, two teenage sons, and I all enjoy arts and crafts. We had great fun and went home with a small silk kite the boys had painted and a paper lotus we all helped to make. We also learned to make a local treat that was a delicacy of the emperor and conical hats. The hosts were delightful and treated us well.
