The Flag Tower is a across Imperial City Complex in Hue. Vietnam flag beautifully presents the idea of socialism with colours and design. The flag is waving the old capital like a guardian from the tower. However you should not expect more than what you...More

Before entering the Citadel and we saw the Vietnam flag hoisted up at the Flag Tower. We took a picture of it.

Kind of the North Vietnamese's Fort McHenry. If you don't know that history of it and it's significance from the war you're missing out. My guide didn't say a word about it.

It looms large over the Citadel and is best seen from the moat as there are many more interesting places to visit inside the vast Citadel complex. Getting closer is not worth the walk in my opinion.

Truly amazing from a distance and great up close. But to understand how this site looked in the past would have both been intimidating and demanding of respect and acceptance of the "powers or rulers to be" at that time.

A good place to get away from the traffic and noise of Hue. Here you can walk around and enjoy the history of Hue.

This rather foreboding looking edifice stands grand at the entrance to the Imperial City, to the side of the bridge over the perfumed river. Large and dark grey in colour it is not easily apparent as to what it is on first glimpse.

The tower itself is in the forbidden city area so you going to see it as you pass by to go to the city. Its is a new flag tower on top of the old city walls so the walls are of more interest

Nothing special at all. This reminds every visitor that we are in a communist country with all its advantages and disadvantages.
