Not too keen about visiting tombs but it was part of the itinery. Was not that creepy when we were there on a sunny morning.

This place just kept going and going. There are several portals to go through until you get to the catfish pond at the end. You can't go into the actual tomb, but the whole site is expansive and impressive. Must do in Hue.

The seven royal tombs are really worth seeing and can be done by coach, taxi, motorbike or boat. We did some by boat and the others by car but somehow it was more special to arrive by boat! The tombs are quite varied but they...More

Royal tombs are what makes Hué such a different capital so they must be seen. Each is very different but they're all vast and extravagant -more like palaces than tombs. Beautiful settings, great gardens and architecture, ornate decor, fascinating!

Very ornate decorations on the wall, elaborate and rich. The Emperor is supposed to have spent a fortune on this, and it shows. Do not miss.

Lots of steps, and a large area to cover. Beautiful architecture, and gardens. But so melancholic, more than sad landscapes. The shop offers a good range of books, stamps and coins.

We visited 3 tombs, each built with no regard to emptying the state treasury and exhausting the people. Ultimately such wanton behavior led to Vietnam's colonization. The tombs are being restored, a good place to learn Vietnam's history.

Two different sets of tombs. The one pictured was quite walkable, but the other one, more impressive, was up a very steep set of stairs.

I recommend that you hire a taxi for half a day to visit 2 or 3 tombs. There are seven royal tombs. If you wish to visit more than three tombs, you must do this one more time. Over 2 half days you can visit five or six... More

How long to spend in Hue? It depends on who you are and what you want to see. Many visitors spend only one day in Hue. For me, this is not enough. We had five days in Hue and we managed to see many places, but there were... More
