Marriott on one corner, Armenian Parliament on another, Hyatt Place on a third and the National gallery/ Armenian History Museum on the main facade. There is a fountain so ordinary ii defies description. Expect taxi drivers operating from here to charge considerably more because you are a tourist.

Fine to sit here watching the people. A bit trafficc and not so many service facilities. Close to the Square you fill find a 1th and 2nd hand market where you easilly can spend some hours.

We stopped here briefly on our tour of Yerevan. A large clean square, situated in the centre of town, it is flanked by government buildings, the clock tower is a particular one of note. There is also the National Gallery and History museum as well as the Marriott Hotel. Beautiful fountains that are lit at night. The square was busy... More

During the day, Republic Square is the traditional chaotic city centre public square but in the evening, it is transformed into a fantastic display of coloured fountains. Starting at about 9pm, several patriotic songs about Yerevan are interpreted by coloured lighting and synchronised water fountains. Similar displays follow when exerpts from the classics are played. A wonderful way to end... More

What a beautiful place with such a stunning architecture...different shades and colors of pink, purple stone makes it cozy and warm. The Armenian architecture is impressive. Make sure you visit the History Museum of Armenia located in the square.
