Really enjoyed our trip to Qatar. It's a beautifully restored and nanichred site. Some say too much so but we really enjoyed it nonetheless. Plenty to see and do with English displays accompanying most exhibits. Loved the fortress. Wish we had longer but darkness was falling and we had to go, but cheap at the price and only a short... Actually quite difficult to find, not very well signposted,a shame as it was very interesting and you really could imagine living centuries ago.Much to see.Seperate fee for the museum which holds many ornate samovars (urns), table lamps and weighing scales, quite a collection.Again separate fee to visit the castle which the grandchildren really enjoyed.Fantastic view from the top.

This is a weird place - everything is re-created and a replica apart from a few real things in a tiny museum. It is a reasonably large site, well laid out and maintained, with "fake" petroglyphs in the gardens, couple of buildings whose interiors represent how the people used to live and then some animals including rabbits, sheep, horses and... A good historical place full of art and color . It takes almost 2 hours to see the 3 museums at a time. You will find lots of traditional home amenities, clothing, art paintings, camel houses and etc. from around the all old villages of Azerbaijan and there is a live show that performed by guides of the museum. It's... More

As a fan of historical places I liked it, any way it was not interesting for my family. The place is well organized and have some interesting stuff . Any way it is better to come here by a taxi and keep the car waiting since it is a bit long distance from the main road to the site gate... More

3 museums in one. We did not opt Archaeological and Ethnography Open Museum as our tour guide informed us that the nearby castle and the exhibition about semawar collection was a better choice. It was nice but not extraordinary.

Very well kept, it is a sample of different layers of life of rural Azerbaidjan. Was very impressed by samples of old scales. But most pleasing was seeing live animals: bactrians, different sheep, 2 donkeys, ponys, horses. And there was a very pleasant old animal keeper - just as I imagined when reading Azerbaidjan fairy tales in my childhood! We... More

We had a lovely young woman walk us through the site and offered a wonderful description of each exhibition. I was surprised as to how much I enjoyed it and what I learned. The small museum of art was very clever of using recycled materials

Cool place to visit. It needs 30 minutes driving from Baku but it is worth. More than one hour is enough to see all its stuffs
