The lunch station of Dhaka on Buriganga River

If you would like to go any places of Bangladesh by vessel, it's the place to take off. This lunch station is dirty, but the lunch journey is awesome. be aware of pick pocket

Sadarghat was the point from where todays mega city Dhaka developed. It is the feri/launch ghat of river Burigonga from where you can visit whoth region of Bangladesh by launch.which located at the southern site of city and also playing the most important role for local trading. Most of the gods from whole country come to the capital by this... More

One should not leave Dhaka without seeing where it all began, on the shores of the Buriganga. Seeing the dozens of ferries between trips up and down the river; watching the scores of small wooden boats, ferrying people hither and yon, and gazing at the cargo boats and their holds bursting with sand and other stuff; all of this is... If someone could overcome the noise, the chaos of old Dhaka city, and dusts, this is a great place to experience the true culture of locals. There are plenty of photo opportunities. Be sure to stop for a moment and watch the people as they are getting on and off boats to cross the river or to go to a... More

I went to Sadarghat with a lot of expectations but I was badly dissapointed. Its extremely crowded and the river is stinking dirty. We tried to take a boat ride nonetheless as we had come there and it wasn't fun due to the stench. Later on, my friends told me that we ended up taking the boat ride from the... More

We began our trip to Bangladesh at Sadarghat. It was a literal feast for the senses. We climbed atop a moored boat and watched the controlled chaos in the river, as small and large boats all negotiated their way through the water. Our first day in Dhaka, it was all at once beautiful, powerful and completely overwhelming. I loved watching... More

This was a hustling place and center of trade in Dhaka not long before say about 40-50 years back. Now this is still hustling with crowd but its not what it used to be and mismanagement lead to a very bad experience. It is now the central HUB of domestic Water transport. Also added to its woes the river water is so... More

It is very unfortunate the way we maintain the river front of Buriganga. In our counties neighbourhood they utilise river front so beautifully that it becomes an MUST visit tourist attraction, like the River city in Thailand. The government should come forward to clean the water and make the place a beautiful one as it deserves.
