The size of the museum is moderate. However, if you want to understand and know the history of Bangladesh, you will hardly find any better place than this. Don't forget to visit the section of liberation/war, that one is mindblowing!

It's got some of everything. So skip the sorts of things that don't interest you. Some halls are really great. Some are not so great. I especially appreciated the history of independence - very moving.

Interesting in places, particularly recent history and some of the many sculptures and items recovered from historic sites. Let down by trying to cover everything, including bird life, sea life, etc, which were a collection of poorly taxidermied creatures.

The entrance door is very detail designed and the architecture of the building is amazing. Bangladesh National Museum is huge and arranged in different sections. Wonderful historical place which represents our culture, heritage, ancestors and history. It will be tough to cover all of the halls in little time, so plan ahead with sufficient time in hand. Well organised museum... More

The Dhaka National Museum, located in Shahbag and just opposite to PG Hospital, is impressive. It is one of the main tourist attractions in Dhaka City. The museum was established in 1913. After independence of Bangladesh, Dhaka museum got the status as the national museum. There are displays of various dynasties of rulers e.g. the Pal, Shen, Baro (12) Bhuyians,... More
